Woodquay is a quiet quarter of the city just minutes away from Eyre Square, the main shopping area & nightlife. We are a stones throw from NUIG & Galway Cathedral. Being close to the tour bus stations means our get-up-and-go guests can easily be connected to Connemara, The Cliffs of Moher & The Wild Atlantic Way. Whether you’re city explorers, adventure seekers or culture vultures we’re ideally located.

Despite the laid back, chilled atmosphere in our Galway hostel, we have taken all the steps to follow government guidance & industry standards. We have reduced capacity in our shared rooms, increased our cleaning team, created one way traffic corridors with floor markings, stepped up our sanitisation of common areas, created a take-away breakfast & developed a pre-arrival check in process. We are squeaky clean & obsessed with hand gel.

We have always had a great vibe to our place, it’s laid back, a home away from home, chilled out vibe where conversations strike up and friendships happen naturally. We don’t have to try too hard with organised events or forced fun. Our guests come from all over the world & Woodquay Hostel in Galway has always been the kind of place where people hang out and get to know each other. All of our properties are set up with all the facilities you need for a great stay. Our Galway hostel has a fully equipped self catering kitchen so you can cook up a storm. We have a laundry room to get your clean on, chill out lounges with Netflix & outdoor areas for you to hang out. We can store your luggage & print your boarding passes. We have a Laptop you can use & our WIFI is fast and free.
